Este domingo 05 de junio se llevará a cabo las elecciones presidenciales de Perú y por tal motivo la Canadian Council for the Americas (CCA) organizará este jueves 02 de junio un conversatorio denominado “Preview of Peru's Presidential Election”, este evento contará con la presencia de distinguidos personajes como el periodista Gustavo Gorriti, Cynthia McClintock y Alonso Gurmendi.
El conversatorio tendrá lugar en el McMillan LLP (181 Bay St. Suite 4400, Toronto, Ontario) de 12:00 a 1:15 pm. Los miembros de la CCA ingresan aportando solo $20.00, y quienes no son miembros deberán abonar $40.00 para ingresar al evento. Gustavo Gorriti
Gustavo is Peru's most celebrated journalist. He leads the investigative center at IDL-Reporteros in Lima, Peru and appears frequently on Peruvian radio and TV. A former Nieman Fellow at Harvard University, recipient of the Committee to Protect Journalists International Press Freedom Award, and senior associate at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
Cynthia McClintock
Cynthia is a professor of political science and international affairs at George Washington University and a leading authority on Peruvian politics. She has authored several books on Peruvian political and social movements. Cynthia is a past President of the Latin American Studies Association and has taught at the Catholic University in Peru.
Alonso Gurmendi
Alonso is a Professor at Universidad del Pacífico Law School. His research focuses on international humanitarian law, human rights and transitional justice. Alonso previously practiced international arbitration law in Lima.
