LULAWORLD 2012: LULA TURNS 10
The LULAWORLD festival kicked off on Wednesday May 09, 2012 with a stunning concert by Autorickshaw and special guests Gordon Sheard, George Koller and Mark Duggan. Thank you to Autorickshaw, their guests and co-presenters Small World Music for making the festival opening night so memorable.

Award winning singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Daniela Nardi releases her new CD 'Espresso Manifesto - The Songs of Paolo Conte'. As the first recording by Nardi's new project Espresso Manifesto, the album sees Nardi's signature style interpreting the songs of the legendary Italian singer/songwriter Paolo Conte.

Celebrated for his work with flamenco guitar icon Paco de Lucia and latin jazz giant Jerry Gonzalez, Cuban-born bassist and multi-instrumentalist Alain Pérez, is making waves in both the flamenco and jazz worlds.

Dizzy Gillespie called Berroa 'The only Latin drummer in the world, in the history of American music that intimately knows both worlds; his native Afro-Cuban music as well as Jazz...'. Cuban drum legend Ignacio Berroa joins us direct from New York City to perform with Hilario Durán, Luis Deniz & Roberto Occhipinti. Hosted by Laura Fernandez.
Donne Roberts - May 18, 8pm
Juno Award - winner Donné Roberts gained international recognition for his work with the African Guitar Summit as well as his first solo release "Rhythm Was Born" On his latest release INTERNATION, the Madagascar-born artist brings together musical influences from Egypt, Nigeria, Japan and First Nations.
Claudio Rabeca (Brazil) + Aline Morales - May 18, 10pm
Composer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Claudio plays rabeca (fiddle), viola, ten string guitar, guitar and popular percussion. Influenced deeply by the Pernambuco musical traditions of his native Rio Grande, Claudio's work is decidedly contemporary incorporating experimental pedals and effects. Claudio will perform with local Juno nominee Aline Morales.

Visiting Lulaworld artist and renown rabeca player Claudio Rabeca shares his weath of knowledge of the musical folk traditions of Northeastern Brazil, in particular, the Cavalo Marinho, and Forro, which represent a mix of Arab, African, European and Brazilian traditions.
