Canadá donará $15 millones para ayudar a contrarrestar incendios forestales de la Amazonía

Durante los últimos días, ha causado alarma alrededor del mundo la presencia de los incendios forestales en la Amazonía. Ante lo cual, el Primer Ministro, Justin Trudeau, ha anunciado que el Gobierno de Canadá estaría donando $15 millones en recursos para ayudar a contrarrestar esta situación.

El mandatario señaló en la G-7 Summit en Francia que el gobierno de nuestro país además de compartir recursos, estará "enviando bombarderos de agua, los cuales son significativamente necesitados en esta situación".

Young people are staying to fight the fire, elders, children and women are being moved to safer places or family homes but they fear strangers might take possession of their territories and refuse to leave their lands. Asimismo, el mandatario también indicó: "Canadá ha tenido muchas personas que han venido a ayudar durante los difíciles años de incendios forestales". Por lo cual, Canadá también se encontrará ayudando en América del Sur en tanto que este "tiene consecuencias no solo en las regiones afectadas si no en todo nuestro planeta".

Incendios forestales en la Amazonía

De acuerdo a la información oficial difundida por medios internacionales, los incendios forestales en la Amazonía comenzaron hace ya más de tres semanas.

Asimismo, la región que se encuentra siendo afectada por esta difícil situación producto de las condiciones atmosféricas actuales de nuestro planeta, mejor conocida como los "Pulmones de la Amazonía", produce el 20% de oxigeno de nuestro planeta, de acuerdo a Save the Amazon Coalition.

The Brazilian Amazon is now burning down in flames. Wildfires often occur in the dry season in Brazil but fires are also deliberately started in efforts to illegally clear forest for cattle ranching. According to National Institute for Space Research the large number of wildfires could not be attributed to the dry season or natural phenomena alone. Indigenous communities across the Amazon are fighting to protect their lands against destruction. Este vasto ecosistema recicla dióxido de carbono y produce lluvias que alimentan su propio crecimiento. Del mismo modo, la zona afectada es también hogar del 10% de especies conocidas de nuestro planeta, acorde a lo indicado según The World Wildlife Fund.

En cuanto a las causas del incendio en el corazón del Amazonas, diversos estudios indicarían que estos podrían haberse originado a causa de fuertes vientos que transportaron el humo de los incendios forestales que ardían a miles de kilómetros de distancia desde hace más de tres semanas. Otros portales señalan que esta situación es producto de una combinación de largas sequías y actividades humanas como la deforestación en la zona.
