¡QUE MOMENTO, CABALLEROS...!

Qué momento del fútbol colombiano, caballeros! ¡Todos de pie y aplaudiendo...!
Años hacía que ningún país -fuera de Brasil y Argentina, dos vientres
generosos- daba a luz una camada de tan buenos jugadores como esta de
Colombia. Que en definitiva es el rédito más importante que arroja esta
sensacional participación en la Copa Libertadores: la confirmación internacional
de una docena de talentos.
David Montoya (caso raro: un flaco que parece gordo), Mauricio Molina, Luis Perea, el arquero González (será arquerazo en breve), John Restrepo (enorme jugador!)... Kilian Virviescas, David Ferreira, el negrito Bustos, Fabián Vargas, Jairo Castillo (un jugador que llegó un jueves a Buenos Aires y el domingo fue la gran figura de la cancha en Vélez)... Y por el Cali varios más: Carlos Castillo (explosivo), el viejo Patiño, José Mera (zaguerazo también), Giovanny Hernández (más conductor que nunca). Todos han pasado la prueba de control de calidad con altísima calificación.
Semejante dotación debe tener inquieto a Pacho Maturana. Por un lado, la placentera sensación que otorga la abundancia; por el otro, el compromiso que genera disponer de tanto material. ¿Si no clasifico al Mundial con este batallón, de qué me disfrazo?, se debe estar preguntando.
Al periodista le pagan para que se juegue. Y ahí va la carta: si es por juego, por nivel individual y armonía colectiva, deben pasar los dos: América y Medellín. El Medellín está en un momento mágico, tiene un técnico fantástico, que lo obliga a jugar la bola y lo manda al frente, el sueño de todos los hinchas (señor Luna ¿no quiere venir al Independiente de Avellaneda...?).
Por el contrario, el Santos parece desinflarse. Y está integrado por mayoría de jóvenes a los que puede pesar tanta responsabilidad. Es cuestión de tapar a Diego, el disco duro del equipo. Si se bloquea al diez, se cuelga la máquina. Además, el Medellín rinde mejor afuera que adentro (le llaman "marido infiel").
América tiene la contra de tres bajas importantes, en especial la de Virviescas, un lateral de aquellos. También extrañará a Banguero, mariscal del aire. Pero cuando se cierra atrás no pasa ni el viento. Y anímicamente está en la estratósfera. Tanto superávit moral compensará la inclusión de suplentes.
Atención: que quede claro, brasileños y argentinos tienen el oficio de salir campeones, saben cómo se hace. El jugador argentino, donde ve la mínima chance de ganar, se agiganta. Y el brasileño saca a relucir toda la grandeza de su fútbol.
Las fichas de nuestro prestigio futbolero (todos tenemos esa arrogancia) están puestas a una final colombiana. Y no hay miedo a equivocarse.

It was one of Colombia's greatest moments. A standing ovation was given
to the Colombian team for their astonishing work.
It has been many years since any country, besides Brazil or Argentina, that has given birth to such amazing players. The most important outcome of this international event, "La Copa Libertadores", is the fact that these outstanding players will be recognized internationally.David Montoya ( a weird case: skinny yet he seems fat), Mauricio Molina, Luis Perea, the goalie Gonzalez ( soon to be known as "The Goalie"), John Restrepo ( huge player)....Kilian Virviescas, David Ferreira, the "negrito" Bustos", Fabian Vargas, Jairo Castillo ( he arrived in Buenos Aires one Thursday and on Sunday he became the grand player in Velez.....To name a few more from the Cali team, Carlos Castillo (explosive), the "viejo" Patino, Jose Mera, Giovanny Hernandez ( team motivator). Fortunately, everyone has successfully passed the skill test for being highly qualified.
Such gifted talent must have Pacho Maturana worried. On one hand, the team has an abundance of talent, and on the other hand if the team does not qualify for the World Cup, "Where will he hide?".
The Medellin team is experiencing a magical moment, due to the fact that it has a remarkable coach. The coach is directing the team to play more aggressively in order to score more goals. Which is ultimately the dream of all the fans.
On the contrary, the "Santos" team consists of young players who do not have the experience to lead the game. It is a question of blocking (number 10), Diego; who is one of the strongest players. Without him, there is no game. Sadly, the "Medellin" team plays better outside their home town. "America" lost three of her best players, Virviescas; one of the best mid-fielders, Banquero; a lead header, as well as an amazing defense.
Brazilian and Argentinian players have a moral obligation to be champions, after all, they have the ability. Once Argentinian players are given the chance to win, they will take it and go for it. The Brazilian players put all their heart and might on the game. All bets are on the Colombian team without hesitation. They will raise the cup in victory.
